The Westin London City is a new build hotel located on the site of Queensbridge House near St Paul’s Cathedral. The hotel will contain 222-rooms, 9 luxury residential apartments, a riverside bar and restaurant which opens onto a new public walkway with views across to the South Bank. Leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, business centre and 830sqm of events space including four meeting rooms and ballroom. The project involves comprehensive services coordination with the architectural, interior and structural design for the public areas and guest suites. Existing foundations and basement columns are retained within parts of the site, helping minimise the impact on the Roman remains beneath the site. We are providing all mechanical, electrical and public health services throughout the project including new soil and waste, water services, heating, comfort cooling, ventilation installations, low voltage and lighting design. Mechanical services are designed with compliance to the original energy strategy that includes high efficiency hot water and LTHW boilers. Combined heat and power units are designed to provide preheating to the hot water boiler. Air handling units with DX coils & LTHW coils with heat recovery are designed to provide pre-cooled/ pre- heat fresh air to the public areas and guest rooms to maintain air quality of space. VRF systems are provided for indoor temperature (cooling and heating) control using BMS system for all front and back of house areas. Electrical services include a new low voltage distribution system, lighting, power, TV distribution, telephone and data, audio visual, fire detection and alarm systems, door entry and gated entry systems, CCTV and lightning protection installations.
