Hercules House is a redevelopment of a 1960’s office building into a 450-bedroom Park Plaza hotel with restaurant, bar conference and spa facilities. Through a collaborative design and development approach we achieved a contemporary, high quality, sustainable, accessible building. The scheme was complex in nature - achieving standards equivalent to a newly constructed commercial premises, whilst utilising the existing structure.
We provided all associated technical design and delivery for the alteration and new extension. We were novated as part of the design team to provide full detailed design works associated with all mechanical, electrical and sustainability services. Our environmental strategy focused on the expected operational energy consumption of the hotel and guests; incorporating the use of combined heat and power for domestic hot water combined with air source heat pumps for heating and cooling across the whole scheme. The project is designed to BREEAM ‘Very Good’ standards.
