Formerly home to the Margolin gramophone factory, the new building offers 27,000 sq ft of state-of-the-art office space over five floors. The design team worked closely with Islington Council conservation officers on the retention of the original Victorian façade on Old Street.
We provided all mechanical and electrical services for the project. Exposed services allow generous floor to ceiling heights and column-free ceilings allow each floor to be filled with natural light. A lower ground courtyard provides a living green wall as well as an eco-friendly biodiverse roof terrace.
New services included a heating and cooling system throughout the building with multiple internal fan coil units on each floor, fibre optic Internet connectivity, CCTV, a video entry system, secure key fob access, shower facilities, two eight-person lifts serving all floors, low energy LED lighting and renewable energy for electricity generation.
